A couple of Christmas cards

My goal is to do a few cards a day until Christmas (or when they all have to be mailed out), starting with stamp sets/dies that I either have used rarely or never used (unless it's for a challenge or specific stamp company)! I've found that I've become a bit of a stamp hoarder... We'll see if I get all the cards done in time for Christmas! As of right now, I have some finished... but I'm mostly happy that I've got our Christmas photo picked out and ready to be tucked in the envelopes.

Holiday Card Workshop 2013 - Day 1 continued...Creative Insides for Holiday Cards

Day 1 actually had a few different techniques, all focusing on interesting things to do with the inside of a card. Yesterday was one of the four, so I decided to try a couple of the others today...

Unique Fold

Honestly, I tried using a pretty HA background stamp on two other attempts, and it was too messy, and I was too impatient, so I decided to just stamp a bunch of snowflakes to create my own background. Much cleaner. Much easier. The snowman card used the Colorbox white - goopy. I actually liked the Fresh Ink a lot better (and it's hard to tell that it's gray on the green background)!

Materials:
Paper: Misc. Bazzill cardstock, Neenah - Solar White
Stamps/Inks: Colorbox - Frost White, Fresh Ink - Provincial Gray, Versamark, HA - Designer Snowflakes, Waltzingmouse Stamps - 2011 Holiday Ornaments , Just Rite Clear - Large Fancy Holiday Sentiments, Paper Smooches - Swanky Snowdudes and Joyful Greetings

Papertrey Blog Hop

Happy Memorial Day weekend! Had a little extra time this morning, so I thought I'd join in on Papertrey's May Blog Hop.

"I think it is safe to say that just about every stamper enjoys playing with floral sets the most.  This month we are giving you an entire rainbow of "bouquet builder" color schemes to incorporate into a new floral project.  Just pick your favorite floral set at the moment, pull out the ink colors for one of the gorgeous inspiration pieces above and create!  Have fun experimenting with which colors are more dominant, and which ones serve just as a tiny accent.  You do not need to use all of the colors listed in any particular scheme above & feel free to use substitutions.  Just have fun with the challenge and perhaps try something a little bit out of your normal creative comfort zone!"

Here's mine:

Materials:
Paper: Neenah - Solar white, misc. Bazzill cardstock
