Make it Monday #119

I had so much fun playing with Papertrey's blog hop last week that I decided to try a Make it Monday over at Papertrey.

This was a technique that was new to me, and I really enjoyed it. I was actually tempted to get the sewing machine out for this one, but managed to stave off that mad thought with some lovely seam binding!

Lawnscaping Challenge #59

Such a dreary day... great day to be in the craft room, ignoring the large hole in the ceiling, of course.

Lawnscaping! I love their weekly challenges, and this is one of my favorites...

Here's mine:

This is for a veterinarian friend who is expecting in the fall. I saw Critters at the Dog Park, and I immediately thought of her. Incorporating the new baby aspect was a little challenging, but I think it works in her case!

Side note - I highly recommend Paper Smooches - Dude Block - for reverse stamping. It is a great size for most stamps and worked well!

Bellarific Friday and a new WPlus9 Release

This week's challenge over at Stamping Bella is to create a card based on one of the two sketches below.

Little Tangles Challenge

Neat and Tangled has some really fun "strip" stamps - just love them! Here's this week's challenge over at the Little Tangles Challenge Blog.

This was a tough one for me --- the only "hello" stamp I have is from the "On the Strip" set, and I really just have the strip sets, period, from Neat and Tangled - although I am amassing quite the collection of sequins. I actually was so excited to use my Across the Card set, and then I realized there wasn't a hello... so I had to improvise. Maybe that's a suggestion for an, "Across the Card 2." I wasn't terribly happy with my improvisation, so I made a second card.

Hero Arts - 90 Minute Scramble

I came up with two cards this afternoon for the Hero Arts 90 minute scramble. Not bad, considering I had a bit of  late start, and the craft room is a DISASTER. We are having water issues with an upstairs bathroom that has leaked through the ceiling of my craft space, so all my organizing last weekend was for nothing, as everything has had to be crammed into one side away from the rather large hole in the ceiling. Positive end to this story - we are having the upstairs bathroom redone. A little sooner than anticipated, but it will be much nicer than it was before.

Back to the scramble - the challenge was to create a card in the colors of your country's flag, photograph it, and upload it to Flickr within 90 minutes.

Side note on the lower card -- Tim Holtz Distress Paints are FANTASTIC. I see so many different applications for using them, other than cards. They go on smoothly, and I love that they are so easy to apply with the dauber tip. I hope they come out with a Peacock Feathers shade!
