Holiday Card Class - Day 7

Day 7... class is just flying by.

Day 7 – Cards with Reverse Stamps

Technique: Color Blending plus Layering

Materials:
Paper: Neenah - Solar white, misc. Bazzill cardstock
Stamps/Inks: TH Distress Inks - Peacock feathers, iced spruce, black soot; Colorbox - Frost White, Stampin' Up - Serene Snowflakes, Hero Arts -Winter Tree, LOTV - Christmas grungy sentiments, Memento - Tuxedo Black, Fresh Ink - Steel Blue
Misc.: Dimensional adhesive, stardust stickles

Technique: Inner Masking Alternative
Frankly, I found that masking and using two embossing powders to be impossible. I just embossed two sheets of paper, cut out the tree, and then adhered it so that it matched the pattern. Much less stressful. I couldn't get my mask to stick properly to the versamark, and it resulted in a huge mess.

Materials:
Paper: Misc. Bazzill cardstock, Neenah - Solar White
Stamps/Inks: Memento - Love Letter, Versamark, Just Rite Clear - Large Fancy Holiday Sentiments, Wplus9 - Fair Isle Backgrounds

Technique: DIY Reverse Stamping
I loved this technique! Very simple one-layer card.

What's a long weekend without a little knitting?

I made a few more of these -- not all this weekend, though. Just finally got around to weaving in ends and photographing.

Pattern: One Row Eyelet Cowl
Needles: Size 11 Circular
Yarn: Misti Alpaca Handpaint Chunky (1 skein each)

I have to be honest, the whole reason I made this headband tonight was because I saw one on Lemon Breeland. And I really liked it. Very quick and easy (and free!) pattern that was very simple to complete in one evening.

Pattern: Turban(d)
Needles: Size 10
Yarn: Dream in Color Classy - Happy Forest

Some Random Cards

These were are some cards that I created recently that just didn't seem to find a place to fit in all the other card postings that have been put together recently.

This is a card that was completely inspired by a card that I saw in the Hero Arts Flickr group. I wanted to do something similar with snowflakes -- I used a variety of snowflake stamps, lots from Hero Arts and a Hero Arts holiday sentiment clear set. The inks are a variety of blue TH Distress Inks. This was a fun masking technique to try!

And here's a card that I put together using a Thanksgiving/Halloween stamp from Northwoods Rubber Stamps, colored with copics, slathered with stickles, and covered with punched leaves.
