Chickies, Knitting, Card Sets

I've been away for a bit, but not for lack of being busy.

Here's some knitting... a stocking and a card set/gift basket both for charities...

The snowman is just something I made up and needle felted (see earlier post with felt stocking).

The basket has a stained glass snowman with a cardinal (made by my Dad), cardinal sugar cookies from Cookie Temptations, and cardinal cards -- see below.

Here are some card sets I'm giving away as gifts this year --- very CAS, so easy to mass produce. The coloring takes the longest, but is the most fun, for the Northwoods cardinal stamps.

DeNami Sketch Challenge

This month's challenge over at DeNami Designs is a sketch challenge...

Here's my taken on it...

Materials:
Paper: Misc. Bazzill cardstock, Doodlebug Design - 3076 Snowfall
Stamps/Inks: DeNami - J138 - Elegant Floral Circle, Tim Holtz - Iced Spruce, Memento - Tuxedo Black
Cutting/Embossing: Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinder's Nestabilities - Standard and scalloped circles, Snowflakes from snowman Tim Holtz die
Misc.: Silver Stickles, Copic markers

And a little knitting... (more mittens!):

These are little felted mitten ornaments, about 3 1/4" from tip to cuff. Quick and easy - good for using up scrap yarn. Size 7 and 5's with Naturespun Sport wool.

Mittens, mittens, and more mittens

Just finished a very large project of knitted mittens - 8 pairs - ranging in size from men's M to child's M. My sister actually did two of the pairs to help me out - the pink and the unpictured red. Variety of colors, hand-picked for each recipient. I made matching tags to go with each pair. The pattern is actually a mix of two different patterns that I adapted for multiple sizes, but the majority of the pattern is: Easy Striped Mittens by Knit Simple (although obviously these are not striped). All are made from Knit Picks Swish Worsted (superwash merino), with the exception of the pink, which is Lion Brand - Woolease. They are knit on either size 5 or 6's.

Here's some of the tags with care instructions (front and back):

Materials:
Paper: Kraft and misc. Bazzill cardstock,
Stamps/Inks: PTI - In the Meadow (snowflake), Memento - Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Up - Hand Knit
Cutting/Embossing: Sizzix Tag, Spellbinder's - Mittens, Corner Rounder
Misc.: Smooch mist, Perfect Pearls Mist - Perfect Pearl, twine from The Twinery

And some external tags...

Paper: Misc. Bazzill cardstock
Stamps/Inks: Memento - Paris Dusk, Tim Holtz - Faded Jeans, Evergreen Bough, PTI - 2008 Holiday Tag Collection
Cutting/Embossing: Tim Holtz - Snowman and Movers and Shapers - Wish
Misc.: Perfect Pearls Mist - Perfect Pearls

Long time since an update...

It has been a long time since an update.... mostly because my laptop has had some major issues and been back to Houston to the Dell repair Depot, and then, after that, had to be worked on in-house by a technician. What a mess!

Here are some things that I've been working on over the last few weeks...

Some stamping....

I'm not going to post the details for all these cards/tag. Suffice it to say, there's been some Magnolia, Lawn Fawn, and Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers action going on around here.

Some knitting....
 Self-ruffling scarves!  (Tinseltown)

 And more Puerperium!!

And lots more mittens.

A little bit of knitting

Here are some projects that I've finished within the last month or so... just didn't have the energy to take photos of them until this morning.

Felted Christmas Stocking:

Cascade 220 and some random fun fur, needle felted - just made up my own snowman design.

More Puerperium (loving it?!):

Twisted Fiber Arts and Encore Tweed

I promise - I'm just doing one more Puerperium this season - and it's on needles, right now.
