CAS-ual Fridays

Here's this week's challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays...

CFC72:  Create a project inspired by your blog header
We can't wait to check out your blogs!

Here's my take on it:

I decided to use the entire blog background as inspiration, rather than just the header, as mine is pretty plain. Green and orange, buttons, and a knitting theme.

Yikes - just realized the sentiment isn't straight... but it's already mailed out, and I don't feel like recreating it. You'll have to excuse me on that one!

Side note - loved the MBossabilities folder once I figured out the correct sandwich -- the first time, I was way too aggressive, ran it through with two B-plates, and, lo and behold, I broke my cuttlebug -- it literally burst apart at the seams! Emergency purchase of a new 'bug, and the folder worked much better with a single B-plate and the Cuttlebug No More Shims embossing pad. Tough way to learn that lesson!

Materials:
Paper: Neenah - Solar White, misc. Bazzill cardstock
Stamps/Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Up -
Cutting/Embossing: Spellbinder's Mbossabilities  - So Trendy
Misc.: Copic markers, button, diamond stickles, twine from The Twinery

Craft Dash!!!

Here's the next color challenge for 10 Minute Craft Dash, hosted by Paulina and Ginny...

How to Play
1) Create a card/craft project within 10 minutes using the color palette above

2) Post the time it took to create
You can pull out your supplies before your timer starts!
  • Challenge ends September 29, 2012 at 11:59pm, PST.

 Here's mine:

Time: 9:08
I have a really hard time coming up with a good idea before I start - I basically just threw a bunch of paper, copic markers, and a couple of Lawn Fawn stamp sets that I thought I might like, and I just kind of went with it... as a result, it really seemed like I was frantically down to the wire. Good exercise, though, and it really makes you more aware of how much time/effort really goes into making a card.

Materials:
Paper: Misc. Bazzill cardstock, Neenah - Solar White, kraft, Lily Bee Design - Victoria Park
Stamps/Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, TH Distress Ink - Picked Raspberry, Lawn Fawn - Plus One
Cutting/Embossing: Corner Rounder
Misc.: Ribbon - May Arts, Copic markers, dimensional adhessive

Tag Time

Can't take any credit at all for designing these tags, as I was completely inspired by Betsy Veldman's Christmas Tags from Papertrey's most recent release, so I caved in, bought the stamps and dies and decided to give it a go!

Here they are:

(Shaker Tags - shake them and the glitter swirls around like snow)

Materials:

Cutting/Embossing: Winter Snow Globe Dies, Spellbinder's Nestabilities - Standard Circles, Memory Box Tag Die
Misc.: Copic markers, Martha Stewart - Coarse Glitter, misc. glitter
