Clean and Simple Card Making Day #1
The class has started.... we're on day #1.
Today's Topic: The Craftmanship of Clean and Simple Cards
1. Based on Kristina's Sketch
Materials:
Paper: Neenah - Solar White
Stamps/Inks: Hero Arts Shadow Ink Mid-Tones - Raspberry and Tide Pool, HA - Many Birthday Messages, CL611, Impression Obsession - Textural Dots
Cutting/Embossing: Spellbinder's Nestabilities - Standard Circles
Misc.: Copic markers, dimensional adhesive
2. Based on Amber's Sketch
One unpredictable thing here, that I learned - ink does not stamp the same over glue - had some excess glue from the branches in a couple of spots - when I redo, I would make sure to not have any excess glue radiating from the branches.
Materials:Paper: Neenah - Solar White, misc. Bazzill cardstock
Stamps/Inks: Memento - Rich Cocoa, Impress Fresh - Mango, Grass, and Mojito, HA Shadow Ink Midtones - Raspberry, Amuse Studio - Evergreen, Clear and Simple Stamps - Flower Buds, HA - CL371 Essential Messages
Cutting/Embossing: Free hand cut trunk of tree
Misc.: Quickie Glue Pen

CAS-ual Fridays
I LOVE using my copic markers, so CAS-ual Fridays had the perfect challenge.
This is also a good warm up for the CAS Cardmaking II Class that starts on Monday...
Here's my card:
Materials:
Paper: Misc. Bazzill cardstock, Neenah - Solar White
Stamps/Inks: Memento - Tuxedo Black, HA Shadow Ink Midtones - Field Greens, HA - CL371 Essential Messages and Archivers/HA - Elephant Stamp and Cut Set
Cutting/Embossing: Hero Arts Coordinating Die
Misc.: Copic markers, dimensional adhesive
And a little knitting (for an upcoming birthday gift... hoping it fits!)
Pattern: Apple Tree Crew Neck
Size: 1 yr
Needles: 6/7
Yarn: Plymouth Encore Worsted - pinks, green, brown
I did end up modifying some parts of this pattern, and it sure was a pain weaving in all the ends. Modifications - knit sleeves in the round and neck in the round, adjusted some stitch counts for the ribbing. As long as it fits, I'll be very happy with the end result (no matter how fussy it was to make). Overall impression - not wild about how the pattern was written, but I would be likely to purchase another pattern from the same designer, just because I like the patterned images she has on the front of her sweaters.
CFC87: Use markers in your Clean And Simple Creation
Remember... a little can go a loooong way!
You can color an image, or an element, or get creative and show us some fun techniques!

Credit goes to A on this one, for heading out to Archivers, getting me the stamp and die, and actually MAILING it to me. Thank you!

For my favorite lurker (A), if you want to see how it fits, check Ravelry, but you have to keep it a secret, because it's a gift for M.

Belated Welcome to 2013
It's been a little quiet over here... work has been crazy, and I've been very, very tired. Too tired to stamp or knit (although there has been more knitting than stamping going on), which says A LOT.
But, I do have two little things to share. And hopefully I will be more inspired this coming weekend, because I still have to do my thank you notes from Christmas!! Although, the Clean and Simple II online card class is coming up, too, so hopefully I'll be more motivated around that time, as well.
Seyfert Cowl
Details:
Yarn: Chunky Mochi - a little less than 4 skeins
Needle: 10
A card - this card was actually made in 2012, but I saved it for 2013.
Materials:
Stamps/inks: Shadow Inks Midtones - Cup O' Joe and Field Greens, Hero Arts - ClearDesign Elephants
